I'm starting to design a building and there will be glass offices.  Is there anything I should be aware or take into consideration that might not be obvious as we go through the design process?   I wonder about privacy of what's on screens, hvac and cleaning intensive.

    Hi Bryan,

One item that continues to be a challenge for us is noise. Seems that no matter what we do with the lids, additional insulation, there always seems to be a challenge with noise.

Otherwise, you have already highlighted things to be considering.

Not sure what system you are planning on using, we are finding the Dirtt Construction Systems to be a great option.

    Best of luck!

    Hi Bryan,

We just completed our Main FC remodel and used the DIRTT system for the offices.  Since we are a financial institution we elected to have a strip of frosted vinyl across the glass at a certain level to help hide monitor displays.  The strip of frosted vinyl is part of our logo, give a nice look and some privacy for members while in the office with our staff.

    Thank you,

The challenges with glass walls are privacy and safety. A common issue is that the occupant feels like they are in a fish bowl, or that others can see confidential information on their computer screen so location of the computer is especially important and having privacy monitor glass is helpful too. Also, I have witnessed many people walking right into the glass panels, some extremely hard. We typically put a vinyl frost stripe somewhere between waist and eye level and that is usually enough to prevent that.
