  • 1.  Fleet Vehicle Replacement

    Posted 2 hours ago

    Good morning all,

As part of my FM role, I'm also responsible for a fleet of 11 bank owned cars that we have. What I don't have is a good policy/procedure/criteria for replacement of these cars. What exists today is whomever is assigned to the car counts down the days until they believe the vehicle is fully depreciated off the accounting books and then they automatically need a replacement. These vehicles are still perfectly fine, so this feels like a new toy type of thing.

What I'm hoping, is that someone already has developed some sort of policy that has some criteria outlined that must be met before a replacement can be purchased. Essentially, looking for a process to fall back on instead of the classic email argument about needing a new one vs. money spent.

For those of you that also manage your companies fleeet, what are you doing in this situation?

    Thanks all,

    -Dave
