Bio

Born in Kansas, I have lived here all my life, except for a short but wonderful stint in the Concord/Walnut Creek, CA area. My husband is a talented free lance graphic artist. My previous work experience includes banking and non-profit. I worked in both operations and marketing for a large regional bank before moving into the non-profit sector where I served as VP of Finance and Administration for our local United Way. It was within this role I first became exposed to facility management, first as a tenant in a multi-story, multi-tenant office building. FM was easy - just call the landlord. Then, baptism by fire, we purchased an older downtown building, gutted it, dealt with groundwater contamination, asbestos, mold, renovated it, brought it to code, and converted it into a beautiful downtown work environment. I am currently VP of Bus. Dev. and ISO Quality Manager for a large privately held nationwide emergency response company. I am Past President of the Wichita IFMA Chapter and currently serve on the Board as Professional Development Chair. In addition, I serve on the Board of the Kansas City Chapter of IFMA, also as Professional Development Chair. I am past President of the former IFMA Environmental Health & Safety Council. I love my IFMA involvement and have a passion for helping others achieve professional certification, hosting classes and assisting members who are seeking information on their professional development.
