    Afternoon!

I am interested in finding out how security is handled at your institution and at what threshold this might be considered a stand alone role? As we look to expand and new technology is introduced just trying to get an idea of what others are doing.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello Josh.

I am also curious what the responses will be to this question.

Security is a multi-disciplinary field and requires understanding of technology (user access, cameras, security software), banking regulations (safety and physical security), and the facility side.  What I observe is that the role of security officer is often pigeon-holed within one department that rarely has expertise in all three fields whereas a dedicated expert or committee is often what's needed.

    Good morning, Josh,

We do have a Physical Security Department, consisting of a manager and two technicians. They manage our access control system and security systems for all locations. They have the primary vendor relationship with our security vendor and work closely with our facilities department on when work is needed at any location.

As a gauge for you, we have 52 branches and several back-offices locations they manage.

Hope this helps, and please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any questions.
