    I was wondering if anyone is using AI within their facilities department and what it is being used for. I am trying to understand where it may be of benefit but I am very green about this area.

    Currently, we are using AI in the form of CoPilot to help with communication, research, and some staff development.  Basically, like a supercharged Google.

    During a seminar at the 2025 IFMA World Workplace conference, a speaker mentioned he thought we are in the early adopter stage of AI in FM.  There are thousands of products out there, with very few offering real advantages. He cautioned that it is probably too early for most organizations to utilize a custom AI system for all of their FM needs.  Ultimately, it was his advice to sit out this first phase but to use this time to learn as much as you can and be ready when the bona fide AI services roll out.

    Thank you Josh – My CU is rolling out CoPilot, so it will be interesting to see what we initially use it for.  We start training next week.  The information from the speaker you saw at WW is helpful, and I agree with the sentiment to sit out the first phase.
