  • 1.  Next IFMA training path should I take?

    Greetings all,

    My name is Graham Groombridge and I have been a member of the IFMA - Boston Chapter since October 2021. I have just completed the full IFMA Essentials of Facility Management series on fm.training, but I am wondering which path to take next. I am open to other suggestions, but currently I am considering either solidifying/expanding my basic FM knowledge by purchasing the 7 Core Competency Courses Bundle, OR, purchasing the Facility Management Professional Bundle with the goal of earning the FMP credential.

    Hello Graham, 

    I would recommend that you pursue your FMP next. I believe the FMP will further solidify your foundational FM skills. Also, you be able to add a badge to your LinkedIn and show a new credential to human resources and your manager which may result in a salary increase. 

    In addition, the logical flow of education through IFMA is to earn the FMP then CFM. The FMP covers 4 of IFMA's 11 core competencies. Then, you can take the next 7 core competencies to then sit for the CFM exam.
