  • Free Quarterly Video: What Every FM Should Know About Operational and Capital Planning

This video is free for full members until September 30, 2024. Facility managers often struggle to balance day-to-day maintenance needs with long term asset preservation and other requirements for programmatic facility changes. Shrinking operational budgets, increasing deferred maintenance and an organizational bias towards new construction can lead to a sense of impending doom. This video will help you use economic principles for long-term management and help shape future approaches to portfolio management.

  • Free Quarterly Video: Preventative & Deferred Maintenance Check: Fine-Tune Your Equipment Inventory

Full IFMA members can access the video for free, April 1- June 30, 2024.  In this presentation, we shed light on the fact that while buildings are constantly changing, maintenance teams chase a moving target in knowing where equipment is in the field. A challenge associated with preventive maintenance for buildings is locating and taking inventory of all the equipment needing attention, all while buildings are constantly changing due to renovations, construction, labor shortages and retirements. Teams often rely on memory of legacy staff, but when long-time employees retire, facility knowledge goes away too.

Denver Chapter: Back to School Drive Stuffing Day

    Jul 31, 09:00 - 12:00 (MT)
Beneficiaries: Wyatt Academy and Joyful Journeys Many low-income families struggle to make ends meet, living paycheck to paycheck. There isn't enough money to afford basic school supplies and a backpack. UNDERSTANDING THE COST At retail, a backpack and supplies can range from $95 (Elementary) to $120 (High School) . When these supplies are not available, classwork and homework often go undone, and by the 3rd grade, these students are, on average, already two years behind their peers in reading and math. Lacking these supplies can also destabilize a student's self-esteem and confidence in that classroom. UNITE WITH US AND HELP BUILD A PATH OUT OF POVERTY With inflation rising, we anticipate that the 2024-25 school year will continue to be challenging for families already living paycheck to paycheck, leaving little left for items like essential school supplies. Our Back-to-School program aims to level the playing field while also relieving the financial burden for parents. With summer just around the corner, children are excited to finish up the school year and have adventures. But with the Denver Chapter of IFMA, we’re already thinking about the new school year! This program is made possible through the generosity of people like you. (Special thanks also to our Community Service Committee.)
