Bio

Good afternoon,

I am Mauricio Rodriguez, a professional in the Facility Management field. I am an Army veteran of 12 years. I ended my Army career and pursued my education, where I received my Associate of Applied Science Degree in Building trades. I have completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Management. My FM career started out by being asked to apply for a Maintenance position at Kansas State University- Athletics Inc. I was offered a position of Maintenance assistant and through hard work and my leadership belief in me, I was promoted to be a Manager- Facility Maintenance Supervisor. I loved working in Facility Maintenance and started to see how I can grow. I was in charge of the Maintenance and custodial operations of Tointon Family baseball Stadium, Soccer complex, and Brandeberry Indoor baseball training facility. While there I learned a lot about how Higher education and NCAA rules governed facility maintenance and operations. I truly enjoyed working at KSA Inc.

I was given an opportunity with a new position working as a Maintenance Mechanic for the Department of the Army within the US Army Installation Management Command in Fort Leavenworth KS. I have left a great place and going from a manager to a worker again is not a bad thing as I know that I will continue to learn and grow in a field that I have come to love so much.  As I continue to grow and apply myself I know that I can continue to climb the ladder as I did in my previous employment.

My most previous position as Facility Manager for the Mission Command Training program and have responsivities of Hard and Soft services for the Facility. I have also worked as a Supervisory Facility Manager for the Command and General Staff College where I managed an in-house maintenance team of 4 maintenance workers and 2-4 work release program inmates from the Correctional Complex located in Fort Leavenworth. There I also managed over 900k square feet of facilities and 64 acres of land.

I have now moved on to be the Director of Facilities for The University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth Kansas. It is a historic place that has buildings first erected in the 1850s that are still in operation! I have an FM team of 17 reports compromising my maintenance and environmental teams. I am in charge of all capital projects, maintenance projects, vendor/ partner management, acquisitions of facilities assets, and asset management.
