Hello, IFMA community! It's good to join your ranks.
I started at the North Olympic Library System in 1999 as a groundskeeper and custodian with a background in landscape maintenance and construction. In 2008, the Library Director took a chance on me offering me the Facilities Manager position. That Director became my mentor. I only hope to have achieved a level of effectiveness and professionalism that would make her proud!
I love working for a public library system. It's a good mission to be on and a great community hub to be involved with. Once I eventually leave my long tenure at the library, my goal is to transition to working in some capacity with landscape design, arboriculture and/or stream restoration.
Thanks and best regards,
