    Hi all,

I am new to the forum so I wish everyone a Happy New Year!  My company is going through a transition where we are reducing our footprint.  I understand that this is not revolutionary (especially today), but we will use 'hot desking' or 'desk sharing' to accommodate the reduction and use a .7 factor across the board to reduce capacity.  This means for every 10 people we will be providing the company with 7 desks.  We will eliminate desk assignments and allow our managers to decide their groups space needs with a new work from home policy as well as introducing alternative work areas throughout the space.  This will change behavior and like I said, this is nothing new to I'm sure 50% of you.  What I am looking for is a smart 'Clean Desk' policy with guidelines for employees to use so that each day we can expect that there are no signs of life at any given desk in order to share.  Please let me know if you have rolled one of these out in the past and if you can, please send me a copy of your guidelines to mischwartz19@gmail.com.

thank you to all and all the best!

My cleaners and property managers are on mobile most of the time. They come to the office with their own laptops and can seat anywhere.

I have 15 guys in total, and the common workstation is only a long desk that can fit three persons. It is enough and it's empty most of the time.

Our organization moved towards unassigned seating in our corporate office this year, with only a handful of people having assigned offices (CEO, COO, CHRO, CFO). As our employees are still mostly working from home (WFH) we haven't had to see if our new policy of unassigned seating and clean desk policy will be successful.  Only time will tell.

I'm interested in any guidelines that have been implemented and have been successful by others.

    Thank you!

We always communicated the approach of treating a space like a state park - if you brought it in, you need to take it out.  And similar to a state park, take any opportunity to leave it better than you found it.
