Take this opportunity to see a one-of-a-kind public space that serves multiple purposes in the heart of De Pere's riverfront area. Opened in the fall of 2023, this 75,000-sq-ft center is a legacy gift of James & Miriam Mulva to enhance the opportunities for citizens of De Pere and the surrounding communities to experience the arts and culture through rotating international traveling exhibits, movies in a 200-seat auditorium and in adjacent workshop spaces.

The building's transparent facade transitions visitors smoothly between the expansive, naturally-lit two-story atrium and the outdoor terrace. Supported by a cantilevering structural steel canopy designed to maximize daylight and minimize material use and visibility, the architecture of the Mulva Cultural Center provides a clean, sophisticated background for the institution’s diverse programming. A palette of limestone, timber and triple-insulated glass define the space, inspired by its location adjacent to the river. The flexible exhibition spaces support a wide range of uses, and a 300-person event space and cafe and restaurant add to the versatility of this facility.

Our tour will be led by Chet Lamers, formerly NWTC's Facilities Director and now Executive Director of Operations for the Mulva. After the tour, we will be experiencing the theater for ourselves, watching a movie on the state-of-the-art Samsung Onyx 4K display with cutting-edge surround sound from HARMAN, one of only three in the country so far.
