The presentation will focus on the decarbonization of new healthcare facilities and how strong leadership and vision has set the tone for infrastructure development going forward. The story from Humber setting the benchmark for energy efficiency in acute care facilities; to Peel Memorial Centre setting the benchmark for ambulatory facilities while adding ground source heat pumps to reduce the Carbon footprint of the facility; to full ground source heat pumps at Corner Brook Acute care facility which will have the lowest Carbon footprint in Canada. We will cover the types of metrics, energy targets, CO2 emissions targets that could be requested in RFP’s that are realistic and achievable.
